About Arlequin

Arlequin is building the sovereign European alternative to Palantir: an AI platform capable of processing massive data volumes without bias, with high-impact use cases such as fighting disinformation. Founded in late 2024 by Hugo Micheron (researcher in geopolitics and systemic risk) and Antoine Jardin (CNRS research engineer).

~30 people, post-seed, Series A in progress. On-site in Paris.

The role

You’ll join Arlequin as the first designer to create the design function from scratch and give a technically remarkable product the visual identity it deserves. Your priority is art direction: translating the founders’ and product vision into a strong, coherent and premium visual language that becomes Arlequin’s signature. The terrain is demanding — our interfaces can handle dense data that must remain clear for the people operating it — so your aesthetic standards always come with rigorous product UX thinking. You’ll define the visual language, the design system and the way design works, in direct contact with the CEO and future Head of Product.

Tools & context

  • Design : Figma, Claude Design, design system to build from scratch

  • Terrain: dense data interfaces, analytical dashboards, workflows for non-technical users

  • Collaboration: close partnership with the founders, engineering and the future Head of Product

  • Ambition: bring a premium level of finish to a sovereign product with high stakes

What we’re looking for

  • 6+ years in product design / art direction, including significant work on digital products (SaaS, platforms, tools)

  • A real eye and a signature: a portfolio with a strong identity, attention to detail, interfaces that stand out — this is the first criterion, proven by the work itself

  • Ability to conduct serious product UX in parallel: structuring journeys and making complexity readable

  • Design system experience: knowing how to create one from scratch and get developers to adopt it

  • Comfortable in early stage: autonomous, pragmatic, able to create the framework instead of waiting for it

  • Professional French and English

Bonus

  • Experience designing data-intensive or analytical products

  • Strong sensitivity to typography and brand identity

  • Successful experience as the first designer in an organization
